In the middle of the night Wednesday, I woke up and thought sleepily, “Hmm, it’s a bit chilly, I’ll just pull up my cozy down comforter.” I snuggled deeper and started to drift back to sleep, only to bolt straight up with the realization that Madeleine has no down comforter! And if she did, she wouldn’t be able to pull it up! And to top it all off, we’ve got the fan blowing in her room for white noise! I AM SUCH A BAD MOTHER! And here’s the worst part – I actually thought about leaving her as is, for fear of waking her up. I know you’ve been there.
But I did the right thing; I dragged myself out of bed, inched her door open, and crawled cravenly past her crib to turn off the fan, noting in that true mothering self-flagellatory way that the room was a good five degrees cooler than mine.
I woke up in the morning determined to never allow my daughter to be cold again. The weather was changing and I wasn’t going to be caught with my snow pants down. My girlfriend Sandra recommended this great company, Mobile Moms, which makes the best stroller blankets I’ve seen. I checked out the website; conceived and run by a couple of moms, this company makes an awesome product. Their Toastie Toddler Blanket is waterproof and windproof for those awful winter days, but still lightweight. The top zips off for easy in-and-out and can double as a blanket, and the whole thing goes in the washer. One of the owners revealed to me that they’ll soon be releasing a version lined in faux fur with a down comforter insert, for those of us who need a bit of extra luxury. And the best part of all? These things work from 6 months to 3 years, so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of them. I ordered mine and it showed up on my doorstep the next day! Two baby thumbs up for quality and service.Powered by AkoComment! |
