Grrr.

Do not. Talk to me.

Between Maddie auditioning for her first
"Nutcracker" performance yesterday and Cora starting pre-k this
morning, I am reeling from the changes going on in my life.
Hurricane Irene's gale forces have nothing on the winds that are
blowing me off balance.

Cora's still excited but starting to show signs of nerves; she
twirls her hair in her fingers (a derivation of the "Mommy Hair
Snuggle") when she gets nervous or hesitant, and there's been much
hair twirling the past twenty-four hours. But she still speaks of
it happily and if she is growing quieter, it's completely to be
expected. As a matter of fact, I was relieved yesterday to see
signs of nervousness: I suppose it makes me happy to see she's not
as grown-up as she's appearing.

As for me, I am thrilled for my girls and their big steps these
past couple of weeks. And I'm happy I'll have some time during
the day to get all the boring stuff done, so I can spend quality
time with Maddie and Cora outside of school.

But oh, I do miss my babies.
